Pucciarelli Marta (PhD Candidate)

Marta Pucciarelli is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Communication sciences at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI, University of Lugano, Switzerland) . She hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Management of Art and Culture at IULM University of Milan (2005-2008), and in 2007 she spent one year in the Faculty of History of Art at the Universitat Rovira et Virgili of Tarragona (Spain). In July 2011 she hold her master degree in Communication Science with a Major in Technology-Enhanced Communication for Cultural Heritage (2009-2011) at the Università della Svizzera italiana.

She takes part at the doctoral school CROSS-FIELD, (collaboration of three Swiss Universities: University of Lugano, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and Universität St.Gallen), which addresses the subject of informal learning, and how digital technologies can help to promote it, as well as to better integrate it with formal learning in different learning contexts.

Her PhD research focus on public art installations produced in developing countries as an opportunity to increase online access to information and knowledge development. As researcher of the NewMinE lab, she is  working on two applied research projects related to ICT4D and access to knowledge: MOBILE A2K: culture and safety in Africa and MELISSA.
